Work starts with taking sizes from my own scale bus drawings of a Dodge S56 |
Using a puch and die set I created the window corners |
I then joined up the corners with a craft knife & and pushed out the windows |
The basic side cut free from the sheet of card. I scribed panel lines and added mouldings and a fuel filler hole |
The process was repeated now for the nearside |
again as before small radius holes were used in the doors and the sanded square to reduce damged to the plastic card |
tooth brush is used to remove waste material |
side looking good |
Both side together and detailed |
Now for the rear and it was a bad timeto spot my scale drawing rear window was wrong opps... |
Rear window recess cut |
Rear free from the sheet of plastic card |
Glues together for the first time. I have laminated two sheet together and you can see that clearly here. I have not put a second sheet above the windows as this will be built up later |
From the rear you can see the second laminate of card carries the window apature |
Using three laminates I built a roof for the minibus giving me a thickness of 1.5mm |
Another shot of the roof in place and sanded to shape |
the other side |
This shot shows the front angles panels in place, also you can see the EFE wheels I will be using and the white metal front end I was given for the model, sadly I have no idea who made this originally any details please contact me |
Here I have glued the metal front onto the saloon and I have made a windscreen surround again from 0.5mm card |
Side shot now starting to look like the real bus |
The Nearside you can see the small internal door bulkhead |
Sadly the front casting is damaged as you can see here over the front wheel arch, this will be fixed in the near future |
You can now see I have added a floor plate which is 2 laminates of 0.5 card this had allowed me to use blue tack to hold the wheels in place for this shot |
The axels are too wide and will be changed out. The front dome is made up of small section of card that have been shaped and filled |
